Google Pixel 11 Arrives Aug. 20 With Gemini and Camera Tools
Google says Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL are now available to preorder ahead of retail availability on August 20, led by new Gemini features and camera tools.
Google has opened preorders for its Pixel 11 lineup, with retail availability set to begin on August 20. In its launch coverage, the company names the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL and puts new Gemini assistance and camera tools at the center of the update.
Gemini becomes more proactive on Pixel
Google says Gemini on Pixel can now handle more multistep tasks across more than 40 apps. Examples include suggestions to save an event to Calendar, add a location to Maps or keep relevant details in Google Wallet. Google also says the feature can surface booking or flight information in cards within apps people are already using.
Other additions include Rambler, Google’s Gemini-powered voice-input feature, and a sign-to-text capability based on the company’s Sign Language-to-Text model. These features are subject to availability limits, so prospective buyers should check their country, language and account eligibility before relying on them.
New camera and creator tools
Google is also introducing Magic Capture, which it says can analyze roughly 400 frames in a typical session to select a 12-megapixel image and apply edits such as crop or unblur. Camera Looks adds new capture-time styles, while Creator Suite brings production tools including an on-screen teleprompter, social gridlines, project folders and a Storyboard editor.
Those are company descriptions rather than independent camera tests. How well they perform in everyday use will depend on the final hardware, software version and the individual feature.
